Steering Committee

CHARGE:

  • Provide a vision and strategic direction to the development of a strategic enrollment management framework and plan that will be successful at SUNY Brockport.
  • Develop enrollment priorities in collaboration with each subcommittee.
  • Identify, develop and monitor short- and long-range enrollment targets and goals that contribute to achieving sustainable enrollment outcomes
  • Communicate and champion a culture of collaboration around student recruitment, persistence and overall enrollment. Provide regular updates to President’s Cabinet, the University community and JPBC.
  • Align and link efforts to the University’s 2022-2027 Strategic Plan and SUNY’s strategic priorities

2022-2023 GOALS:

  1. Develop and charge the councils and subcommittees based on strategic priorities
  2. Complete immediate priority projects and analyses to inform short and long term SEM planning
  3. Develop enrollment goals & priorities aligned with the University’s strategic plan that promote the University’s enrollment health
  4. Develop a SEM Plan template for subcommittees; complete first draft of a SEM plan by May 2023.
  5. Create an ongoing communication plan to promote SEM to the campus community, key stakeholder groups, and within each division during the late fall and early spring semesters.
  6. Participate in ongoing trainings and development opportunities focused on SEM

Data & Analysis Team

CHARGE:

  • Provide enrollment data analysis to the SEM Council and subcommittees
  • Develop and continue to enhance a data analysis cycle that accommodates the needs of the strategic enrollment management efforts (i.e. annual retention, persistence and graduation rate analysis)
  • Develop recommended Key Enrollment Indicators to the Strategic Enrollment Management council and subcommittees
  • Provide data on Key Enrollment Indicators, including projections.
  • Produce project-based reports and analysis based on the needs of SEM efforts

2022-2023 GOALS:

  1. Develop a real-time KEI dashboard with weekly reporting capabilities.
  2. Participate in trainings and development opportunities focused on SEM.
  3. Develop a data analysis cycle/calendar that meets the needs of the SEM efforts. Complete analyses based on the approved calendar.
  4. Develop recommended KEIs list and proposed measurement by November 2022 for review by the SEM Council.
  5. Complete a study of competitors based on a comprehensive study of:
    1. clearinghouse data
    2. financial aid data
    3. academic program mix including modality (online/hybrid/in-person)
    4. experiential learning embedded in the curriculum
    5. etc

Recruitment Council

CHARGE:

  • Review, analyze and recommend strategies and tactics to increase undergraduate and graduate student recruitment and yield.
  • Develop and/or achieve strategic goals for new student recruitment. Facilitate and review subcommittee action plans, make recommendations and report progress to SEM Council.
  • Review and approve subcommittee action plans, make recommendations and report progress to SEM Council.

  1. Participate in trainings and development opportunities focused on SEM
  2. Develop and charge subcommittees aimed at advancing strategic recruitment efforts (see list below).
  3. Complete SEM Plan section related to recruitment.

Retention & Persistence Council

CHARGE:

  • Review, analyze and recommend strategies and tactics to increase undergraduate and graduate student persistence throughout the student lifecycle.
  • Based on the Persistence Roadmap, develop/oversee subcommittees to create action plans for goals 1-3.
  • Review and approve subcommittee action plans, make recommendations and report progress to SEM Council.

2022-2023 GOALS:

  1. Participate in trainings and development opportunities focused on SEM
  2. Annually update and monitor progress on the Persistence Roadmap.
    1. Develop and charge subcommittees aimed at advancing strategic retention and persistence priorities. See list below.
