October 5Dr. Nandini Kar, Assistant Professor of Earth Sciences presented a poster titled “Organic source characterization of the Utica, Marcellus, and Burkett shales” at the EAAPG meeting in Pittsburgh on October 4.

July 31The trio of Reilly Blocho ’19, Dr. Richard Smith ’07, and Dr. Mark Noll (Professor of Geology), published a paper on the depositional environment and origin of organic matter in the Marcellus Shale.

March 31The Department of Earth Sciences hosted a Women in the Earth Sciences forum to celebrate Women in STEM month on March 30. The forum focused on stereotypes and supports for women in the STEM field and consisted of current students and alumni.
