October 6The Department of Communication is pleased to announce the return of SUNY Brockport’s CMC Speech Lab and its services. The CMC Speech Lab is a free service available to students to help them with all levels of the speech preparation process, including topic selection, organization, research, and delivery practice.

April 8Associate Professor Elizabeth Thorpe launched her podcast, Kairoticast, in April 2020. She has produced nearly 50 episodes that use rhetorical principles and theory to provide commentary on current events ranging from the 2020 election to the removal of confederate statues, to cancel culture.

April 6Throughout February and March, undergraduate students prepared video submissions for a digital speech competition hosted by the Brockport Debate Society and eight students earned high enough scores to qualify for the final round of competition.

Students may make either a virtual or in-person appointment to meet with a Public Speaking Coach for assistance
