Enrollment Update

Greetings Colleagues,

It’s a beautiful time of year to be at Brockport, we are so fortunate to be surrounded by the changing fall leaves. It’s also a great time to be at Brockport because of the tremendous momentum we are experiencing, thanks to the university-wide efforts around our enrollment.

We have updated the enrollment projections, and we would like to share the new targets:

New Student Enrollment Targets for Spring 2024

• First year students: 25
• Transfer students: 275
• Graduate Students: 175

New Student Enrollment Targets for Fall 2024

• First year students: 1200
• Transfer students: 650
• Graduate Students: 473

Our first Fall Open House was a success, with higher attendance than last fall’s first open house and overwhelmingly positive feedback from prospective students and their families. Our next open house is on November 11th. Thank you to everyone who is giving up their Saturday to meet our prospective students and share the Brockport story. 93% of our deposited students last year visited campus, highlighting the importance of our on-campus events.

I hope you’ve seen the ongoing marketing campaigns promoting the opportunity to apply to SUNY Brockport for free. Alumni have also received messages about our Alumni Referral Program. We hope to engage more alumni in our out-of-state recruitment efforts in the upcoming year.

Our daily visits and tours are an important part of recruitment. Last year, faculty meetings were added as an option on the daily tours. They made an incredible impact: students who met with a member of an academic department were 3x more likely to enroll. Thank you so much to the faculty who have participated in this program.

Supporting our current students by providing an engaging, welcoming, and enriching experience is a key element to our enrollment success. Student retention and persistence are of paramount importance, as we strive to help every student find their path to graduation at Brockport.
