Daniel has been a professional with the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry since 2023.
Daniel currently serves on the American Chemical Society (ACS) Committee on Chemical Safety(CCS) and has since 2018. He was promoted to a full member of the committee in 2020.
Daniel also serves as the ACS DEIR Roundtable Representative for the ACS CCS and has since 2022.

Daniel Jacques specializes in and innovates the implementation of both regulatory and pedagogical topics of laboratory safety and chemical hygiene in academic settings. As a career Chemistry laboratory educator and safety manager, he has developed multiple college STEM safety programs and training seminars; highlights include developing online hazardous waste documentation programs, SUNY Geneseo’s chemical hygiene plan, and course- and employment-specific laboratory safety right-to-know program development, institution, and embedded training for faculty, staff, and students.
Furthermore, Daniel has been widely recognized for his instruction and mentorship in both domains of STEM Accessibility and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Respect (DEIR), including formally teaching introductory and advanced Safe Zone topics.
