Bio

Christian Martínez joined as an assistant professor in the Department of Kinesiology, Sport Studies & Physical Education at SUNY Brockport in 2023. He previously taught Kinesiology and Public Health-related courses at The University of Puerto Rico and The Interamerican University of Puerto Rico. He has expertise in programming, planning, and implementing structured and systematic intervention programs for underserved populations. Founder and former CEO of Children’s FitZone Inc., a physical activity intervention program to reduce childhood obesity in the West Region of Puerto Rico. In 2020, Christian Martínez established at the University of Puerto Rico Team Prime Time Games®, a full-inclusion peer mentor sports program for children with developmental disabilities.

Further, he previously worked as a Diseases Intervention Specialist at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Foundation (CDC Foundation), supporting the Department of Health in Puerto Rico and performing interventions in the school system in Puerto Rico.
