Policy Statement

The University’s immunization requirements and consequences for non-compliance.

Applicability

All students registered for classes at SUNY Brockport**, regardless of the number of credit hours, must provide proof of immunity to measles, mumps and rubella, and provide a meningitis response.

* Students born before 1957 are exempt

** “SUNY Brockport” includes the MetroCenter as well as other off-site locations.

Students taking only online classes that never meet as a group or cohort, on or off campus, are exempt from immunization requirements.

Policy Procedures

Before classes begin, ALL undergraduate and graduate students must submit immunization history to include:

  1. Proof of immunity to Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR) and
  2. Submit date of meningitis vaccine which must be within five years of start of classes or online declination of vaccine.

These requirements must be completed before classes begin or the student will be deregistered and not permitted to attend classes. In addition, a hold will be placed on the student’s account and the Registrar will charge a fee to re-register the classes.
