Bio

Robin E. Gardner is an Austin, Texas-based Social Worker serving individuals, couples, families, and groups seeking stability, integration, and wellness. She began her Social Work career in 2009, and has spent the past decade working within systems of child welfare, disabilities, healthcare for the homeless, acute psychiatric hospitalization, incarceration, and with active/reserve/retired military service members, first responders, and their families. She draws from rigorous training in evidence-based treatment while offering an integrative approach that includes movement, acupuncture, sound, nature, and animal-assisted therapy. Special areas of practice interest include: global mental health, integrative medicine, and restorative justice. She currently serves as the Director of Psychological Health for the Texas Military Department and has a small private psychotherapy practice.

For those who like the facts: She received her Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) at Azusa Pacific University in Los Angeles, California and her Master of Social Work (MSW) at The Greater Rochester Collaborative (GRC) – a blend of instruction through Nazareth College of Rochester and SUNY Brockport – in Rochester, New York. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker - Supervisor (LCSW-S), Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC), Certified Group Psychotherapist (CGP), Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT), Certified Acudetox Specialist (CAS), and Animal-Assisted Therapist (AAT) in the State of Texas.

When not in the office, she can be found on her yoga mat, listening to public radio, reading, cooking, spending time with her family, or hiking with her dog (and co-therapist, by request), Jaya.
