Bob Confer is a 1993 graduate of Royalton-Hartland and a 1996 graduate of SUNY Brockport’s Delta College.
Mr. Confer has maintained an ongoing relationship with the College. He has often presented to business classes, spoken at leadership conferences and provided tours of his workplace to Brockport students. His company sponsors a scholarship at Brockport and he has also been a regular at Brockport’s ice hockey games since 1993. Since 2008, he has maintained the blog BrockportHockey.com to help the team with promotion and recruitment.
Mr. Confer is the president of Confer Plastics, Inc. in North Tonawanda, a third generation family owned and operated manufacturer that employs more than 200 people and proudly makes all of its products in the USA. Some items produced by the company are kayaks, swimming pool ladders, spa cabinets, and docks.
Since 2005, Mr. Confer has written a weekly opinion column for the Niagara Gazette, the Lockport Union Sun & Journal, and Batavia Daily News. His columns most often look at issues in public policy and economics.
Mr. Confer serves the Boy Scouts of America as the president of the board of the Iroquois Trail Council which oversees 2,500 Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts and Explorers – and more than 1,000 volunteers – in a rural five-county region of Western New York.
The lifelong Gasport resident is married to Bernadette. They have four children – Alexandria, Warren, Arielle and Clark.
