Bio

Katie Cariola is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of New York. She obtained her master’s degree in counselor education from Canisius College, where she also studied psychology and criminal justice as an undergraduate. Katie joined the staff of SUNY Brockport Counseling Center in August 2011.

Prior to joining the College, Katie worked in a community mental health setting providing therapy to a diverse population of individuals dealing with a variety of issues. Some of her clinical work has included therapy for trauma survivors, facilitating Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) groups, working with individuals with substance abuse issues and treating clients who engage in self harming behaviors.

Katie is a generalist in practice and her clinical interests include working with individuals dealing with grief and loss, depression and interpersonal and relationship difficulties. In her spare time, she enjoys being physically active and spending time with her family and their two dogs.
