Bio

Tammy Farnham proudly joined the nursing faculty at SUNY Brockport in 2013. She serves as Instructor for Maternal Child Health Nursing to both the traditional undergraduate nursing students and the 2nd Degree Bachelor’s in Nursing program. She continues to practice as a Certified Nurse-Midwife part-time with the University of Rochester Midwifery Group which she finds to be an incredibly rewarding experience. Remaining active in clinical practice enhances her ability to share clinical knowledge and experience from this field with the nursing students at Brockport.

Farnham graduated Magna Cum Laude from D’Youville College with her BSN in 1996 and returned to her Alma Mater to earn her Master of Science degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 1998. Ms. Farnham then went on to complete a Post Master’s Certificate in Midwifery through The Midwifery Institute of Philadelphia University in 2003.

She has practiced as a women’s health care provider since 1999. Farnham is nationally certified as a nurse midwife through the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB) and maintains active membership in the American College of Nurse- Midwives (ACNM) and the New York State Association of Licensed Midwives (NYSALM).

Outside of teaching and clinical practice, she enjoys spending time with her two young children who keep her active! She also enjoys finding time for cooking, gardening, and just having fun with family and friends.
