Bio

Sadia E. Cheema, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor at SUNY Brockport. Her scholarly research lies at the intersection of gamification, activism, and corporate social responsibility. Using survey and experimental methodologies, she is interested in examining how new media technologies shape socially conscious citizenship practices among youth and influences their broader involvement in social and political issues. She has published her scholarly research in the Journal of Media Psychology, Journal of Information, Communication & Society, Journalism Studies, and International Journal of Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Marketing. She is also a recipient of a fellowship by Advertising Educational Foundation’s (AEF) where she worked with McCann Worldwide in NYC. Additionally, she is also a recipient of multiple internal and external grants that have supported her scholarly endeavors.
