Lauren Lieberman, Distinguished Service Professor, KSSPE, has been awarded funding from Lavelle Fund for the Blind, Inc., to develop trainings and training materials for parents, teachers, and paraeducators designed to teach physical activity to children with visual impairments and other disabilities.
The training materials will include tip sheets, brochures, manuals, videos, assessments, a website, resource lists, and in-person and virtual conferences for families and teachers.
Dr. Lieberman will host two Summits with other directors who hold camps modeled after camp abilities, to review the training materials and provide modifications and updates ensuring the materials are high quality, easy to use and can be understood and followed by parents and paraeducators alike.
Dr. Lieberman will be working on this project with graduate students.
The award will be administered by The Research Foundation for SUNY at SUNY Brockport.
