The purpose of the proposed study is to implement and evaluate evidence-based interventions that are targeted towards improving quality of life among family caregivers of older adults with visual impairments. The outcomes of interest that will be targeted are part of the proposed interventions and include: quality of life, health, stress, burden, problem-solving, and barriers among family caregivers, as well as their loved ones.
This research is important for the family caregivers and their loved one with visual impairments that will benefit from the proposed multimodal interventions. Furthermore, this project is particularly important during a pandemic since it could provide family caregivers and their loved ones with an avenue to reduce stress while also enhancing their quality of life.
The grant will be administered by The Research Foundation for SUNY at SUNY Brockport.
