Title: Digital Speech Competition Winners Announced
Last week, competitors submitted their final round speech for the Digital Speech Competition hosted by the Brockport Debate Society and the Department of Communication. The final round asked students to prepare a persuasive speech answering this question: What do you see as the most important issue facing society in the next 10 years? Speeches needed to identify an issue as well as advocate for possible solutions. Students submitted videos on a range of topics such as climate change, healthcare, social media, and racial justice.
Congratulations to our first-place speaker Hannah Townsend for their speech on homelessness. Hannah is the winner of a $200 gift card!
Also, congratulations to our second-place speaker Vernique Burrell for their speech on mass media. Vernique is the winner of a $150 gift card!
We also had a two-way tie for third place. Congratulations to Allison Chiera and Cassidy Wiesmore who both respectively won a $50 gift card!
Thank you to all the competitors for taking part in this event!
