Two Faculty members from the Department of Healthcare Studies, Gary Metz (Associate Professor) and Dr. Afeez Hazzan (Assistant Professor), presented at the New York State Sociological Association Meeting.
Gary Metz (Associate Professor) and Dr. Afeez Hazzan (Assistant Professor) presented a paper titled, “Criminal Justice and Public Health: Response Models in the Time of COVID on April 16, 2021. The paper was presented at the 68th Annual New York State Sociological Association Meeting: New Social Realities: Meaning Making and Transformation in the Context of Politics, Protests, and the Pandemic.
The presentation was designed to educate police, first responders and policymakers on issues pertaining to primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention and intervention practice.
