The EPA, through the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative (GLRI), has funded the next five year of the Coastal Wetland Monitoring program, allocating $1.15 million to a team led by Kathryn Amatangelo with co-PIs Matthew Altenritter, Michael Chislock, Rachel Schultz, and Project Manager Greg Lawrence.

The grant will support multiple graduate and undergraduate researchers, providing practical experience and skill training in the field of wetland ecology.  The CWMP is a long-term collaboration between SUNY Brockport, Central Michigan University, and other campuses and agencies in the region that have worked together since 2011 to sample Great Lakes coastal wetlands annually for water quality, birds, amphibians, plants, fish, and invertebrates.

If you’d like more information on the history of the program, please contact Katie Amatangelo.

The grant will be administered by The Research Foundation for SUNY at SUNY Brockport.
