Title: Brockport Residential Students Receive Recognition at Research Conference
SUNY Brockport’s Residence Hall Association (RHA) sent a delegation of students to the virtual NEACURH Student Leadership Conference 2021 that took place this past March.
Brockport’s Residence Hall Association (RHA) is a student-run organization comprised of residential student leaders living in the residence halls. This student group is advised by the Office of Residential Life staff, Resident Directors Megan Henry and Stephanie Sortino. The RHA sent a delegation of students to the virtual NEACURH Student Leadership Conference 2021 that took place on March 19 and March 20. This delegation consisted of the following residential student representatives: President Makayla Houle, National Communications Coordinator Ilya Wilson, Director of Programming Jazmin Richardson, and our delegates from the residence halls Hannah Bafford, Resident Assistant Blake James, Colin Tolbert, and McKenna Brazie.
Prior to the conference, the delegation submitted education sessions and educational displays, all of which are judged by a panel, and the best works are put up for awards at the closing ceremony of the conference. The Brockport delegation walked away with 2 awards for one of their educational displays. Students Hannah Bafford and Jazmin Richardson created the display “The Plate of an Inclusive Leader”. It received the award of “Top Overall Educational Displays”, and they were also the sole recipient of “Excellence in First Time Educational Display”, receiving first place overall in the category of first-time displays at the conference.
