Brockport’s Global Citizenship Virtual Exchange Program will return for Summer 2021. Brand new partnerships with international organizations in South Africa and Vietnam will allow students to earn credit while making a difference in the world.
The Brockport Global Citizenship Virtual Exchange Programs were modeled after the SUNY Coil Global Commons program and began at Brockport in Winter 2020/21. We are excited to announce our newest courses in this series which will be offered in Summer 2021:
- Reducing Inequalities: Using Education and Physical Activity to Support Learners in South Africa with Melanie Perreault
- Literacy Beyond Borders: Teachers Supporting Writing Between World in Vietnam with Kate Colantionio-Yurko and Kathy Olmstead
In these Global Citizenship Virtual Exchange Programs, students will contribute to global sustainability by completing a project in small groups, in partnership with community based and nonprofit organizations around the world. Students will gain skills in intercultural communications and collaboration by completing a project for one of these partner organizations through the framework of the United Nations Sustainability Goals. Partner organizations around the world will work with groups of students to develop these stories and receive use of the final products.
Students will receive 3 credits for this program.
