Dr. Danielle Stratton specialized in childhood obesity while pursuing her degree as a Doctorate of Nurse Practitioner (DNP). Her focus was improving the identification of children at risk, following up, following through, and prevention in the primary pediatric care setting.
Her recent publication “Development and Implementation of a Childhood Obesity Protocol in a Pediatric Primary Care Practice” is the culmination of her scholarly work and research.
Childhood obesity is a known health problem in the United States (U.S.). A first step in a potential solution to prevent and manage childhood obesity is to develop and implement a protocol to use in the pediatric primary care setting. This will result in making a positive impact and change in U.S. pediatric primary care practice, and ultimately improve children’s health into adulthood.
