Environmental Science & Ecology Professor Received $92,540 in Research Funding

Dr. Jacques Rinchard received a research grant for $92,540 from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to continue his work on thiamine deficiency affecting California salmonine species.

Dr. Jacques Rinchard received a research grant for $92,540 from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to continue his work on thiamine deficiency affecting California salmonine species.

Dr. Rinchard and his students will determine thiamine concentrations in Chinook salmon, coho salmon, and steelhead trout, from the Central Valley and the Kamath River.  In addition, they will also evaluate thiamine concentrations in their potential prey including anchovy, herring, sardine, rockfish, squid, and krill, collected from the Pacific Ocean.

The grant will be administered by The Research Foundation for SUNY at SUNY Brockport.
