As you may know, Brockport will need to do hard and fast work to develop a new core curriculum that aligns with the new SUNY General Education guidelines. That collaborative work will likely be launched by the Provost Office this summer so that a new Brockport General Education program can be approved through shared governance by the end of fall 2022 (and implemented by the college for Fall 2023).
A Senate Ad Hoc General Education Working Group has been diligently preparing and will continue to share with all of us (through Senate presentations and my email attachments) informative reports designed to positively influence the process of developing a new General Education program. One of those reports will summarize the findings of this survey— of your insights and feedback about General Education at Brockport— and of a similar survey of students.
We are also interested in obtaining student perspectives on their general education experience. Please encourage your students to complete the student version of this survey as well.
