Free African Dance Classes by Youssouf Koumbassa

SUNY Brockport’s Sankofa is hosting Youssouf Koumbassa for a two-week residency in the Rochester and Brockport area between February 21-March 5. These classes are free, but require registration in order to attend.

Youssouf Koumbassa is perhaps the world’s most sought-after teacher of Guinea-style African dance. Youssouf was born in Conakry, Guinea and he will be teaching African dance classes open to the community between February 21-March 5. These classes are free to all participants with generous funding from NYS DanceForce, a partnership program of the New York State Council on the Arts.

Pre-registration and masks are required to attend any of the classes.
