Carvin Eison, Professor in the Department of Journalism, Broadcasting and Public Relations, is also the recipient of the University of Rochester’s 2022 Presidential Strong as One Diversity Award for Social Impact.
Professor Carvin Eison of the Department of Journalism, Broadcasting and Public Relations will be discussing “From Frederick Douglass to Daniel Prude: How redlining, restrictive covenants and violent, racialized policing have shaped Rochester, New York” from 11:30 to 12:30 pm Saturday, Feb. 19, at the University of Rochester Warner School of Education’s DSPSA Virtual Winter Conference.
Eison is an award-winning documentary filmmaker in addition to his work teaching courses in media literacy and filmmaking here at Brockport. He is the creative director of ImageWordSound, an independent production company, and serves as general manager of Rochester Community Television.
