Title: JPBC Holds First Meeting of Spring 2022
JPBC is a presidential advisory committee representing the college community. It serves as the institutional oversight body to ensure that institutional goals and division level planning and budgeting are interlinked and informed by assessment to advance the strategic goals and priorities established in Building a Better Brockport, the strategic plan for the College. The committee meets on select Thursdays typically from 8:30 - 10:30 am throughout the academic year. Meetings are open and the SUNY Brockport community is encouraged to attend. Each month activities of the committee are shared by way of the Daily Eagle.
JPBC held its first spring semester meeting on January 27 which included several updates. An update on undergraduate enrollment and retention was provided and detailed several data points for consideration as the campus community continues to strategize on how best to address challenges in this area. An overview of the governor’s budget specific to the aspects that would impact the SUNY system was shared, and President Macpherson provided a progress update on strategic planning. During this meeting, it also was announced that a forthcoming call for proposals for JPBC Investment Funds would soon be shared with the campus community. Finally, of note, the newly established JPBC subcommittee, Instructional Technology and Classroom Renovation, has begun its work in the spring semester.
Upcoming meetings for the semester will include presentations on fee-based budget, Middle States update, division budget reports, five-year financial model update, analysis of swimming pool management, BASC budget, DIFR budget, BSG budget, goal group updates, and various other updates pertinent to the strategic planning of the College and its budget.
