Dr. Kristin Heffernan, Dr. Afeez Hazzan, and Dr. Jason Dauenhauer, faculty in the Department of Social Work and Department of Healthcare Studies, co-authored a manuscript reporting faculty insights about the College’s long-standing lifelong learning course auditing initiative. The article entitled, “Promoting age-friendly organizational culture through lifelong learning programs in higher education: Experience and insights from faculty,” was published in Educational Gerontology. This article represents SUNY Brockport’s ongoing efforts toward creating age-inclusive learning environments and the faculty’s commitment toward promoting intergenerational learning opportunities.

Between 2016 and 2022, over 150 adults aged 60+ have audited over 160 different courses representing more than 325 seats. For more information about this initiative, contact Dr. Jason Dauenhauer, Director of Multigenerational Engagement.
