Title: Study Abroad Returns for the Spring 2022 Semester & Beyond
After the suspension of study abroad since March 2020, we are pleased to share that SUNY Brockport has our first small cohort of students studying in Granada, Spain. The Center for Global Education and Engagement plans to offer more program locations starting summer 2022 but will be limited to select summer schools and internships.
One student currently in Spain describes her experience, “I am loving it here! My host family is amazing and we get along really well. I feel like living with them is really helping to improve my Spanish conversational abilities. I have been enjoying my classes as well and meeting tons of new friends at the CLM! Last weekend my friends and I went to Madrid and this weekend we’re off to Seville with a group from the CLM.”
We look forward to supporting more students abroad beginning summer 2022. With a limited but unique array of programs, there are opportunities available for most academic disciplines. This includes new options for graduate students and STEM concentrations.
In addition, the Center for Global Education and Engagement has collaborated with Advancement throughout the pandemic to build alumni engagement and to increase study abroad scholarship funds. We also genuinely appreciate the Brockport faculty and staff who continue to support study abroad and international student scholarships even throughout the pandemic. We have lots of new scholarships, with more to come, and we are eager to begin awarding them to Brockport students!
The Center for Global Education and Engagement (CGEE) continues to closely evaluate local health, safety, and travel restrictions to determine what programs should operate for summer, fall 2022, and beyond. This review will be in collaboration with SUNY System administration and campus partnerships. Please contact CGEE should you have further questions.
