Title: Archaeology Field School Featured in Democrat & Chronicle
Frost Town Archaeology is an archaeological field school run through the Department of Anthropology at Brockport. Directed by Dr. Alex Smith, the project looks at the 19th century abandoned town, once called Frost Town, located on the property of the Cumming Nature Center. As part of the Rochester Museum and Science Center, the Cumming Nature Center has been working with Dr. Smith for years, developing public programming, community outreach days, summer day camps for kids, formal exhibits, and the Frost Town Field school for SUNY Brockport undergraduates.
Dr. Smith’s upcoming lecture for the Bristol Hills Historical Society at the Cumming Nature Center will take place on February 19 at 1 pm and it is free and open to the public.
