Strength Quest. In this interactive session, participants will be guided through a variety of activities based on the results from their CliftonStrengths for Students assessment. Individuals will gain a greater sense of self as well as how to leverage their talents while working with others. Come explore your personal profile.

Note: Participants will receive a link to complete the CliftonStrengths for Students Assessment upon registration. The assessment must be complete no later than February 24 and send their results to community@brockport.edu. Participants should also bring a copy of their results with them to the workshop.

The workshop is limited to 30 participants.

Karen Podsiadly has served for over thirty years in a variety of settings within American Higher Education. During her professional career, she has gained experience and worked in Student Government Advising, Programming and Event Planning, Student Leadership Development Programs, Democratic Engagement, Community Service, International Student Services, Intercultural Engagement and Programs, and Commuter Services, to name a few. Additionally, Podsiadly facilitates the College’s Leadership Program for Faculty and Staff and is a certified Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and CliftonStengths (formerly StrengthQuest) facilitator.

Podsiadly enjoys a career that allows her to move seamlessly between her roles on campus and in the community. In recognition of her commitment to her profession, she was recently awarded the 2020 Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Professional Service. The Chancellor’s Award is a system-level honors conferred to acknowledge and provide system-wide recognition for consistently superior professional achievement and to encourage the ongoing pursuit of excellence.

She has and currently serves in a variety of roles both locally and nationally. Some of these include serving as the President of the Board of General Ministries for American Baptist Churches USA. Podsiadly currently serves as a Board Member of E3 Rochester and Chair of ROC Achieve Charter School Board of Trustees. She has also served on the Board of Directors at The Community Place of Greater Rochester and as a Church Trustee and President of Women’s Ministry at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church. Other service includes roles as President of Rochester Genesee Region of American Baptist Churches, Inc. and chair of the Regional Executive Minister Search Committee Chair. Additionally, Podsiadly served as a board member of the SUNY Geneseo Alumni Association for over 10 years. She has also presented numerous workshops and keynotes on a range of topics.

A native of Rochester New York, Podsiadly is a proud graduate of East High School - Rochester City School District, State University of New York College at Geneseo, and Western Illinois University with a Regents Diploma and degrees in Sociology and College Student Personnel, respectively.
