Grant Funding from Genesee County Soil & Water Conservation District to Restore Floodplain via Tree Planting

Andie Graham and her collaborators Dr. Michael Chislock and Dr. Paul Richards received a $1,400 award from Genesee County Soil and Water Conservation District.

Andie Graham (Environmental Science & Ecology Instructional Support Technician) and her collaborators Dr. Michael Chislock (Environmental Science & Ecology) and Dr. Paul Richards, (Earth Science) received grant funding of $1,400 and materials worth $2,400 from Genesee Soil and Water Conservation District for their project titled “Restoration of an emerald ash borer-impacted floodplain via tree planting.”

This project consists of surveying and monitoring vegetation, water quality analysis, and groundwater hydrology monitoring of the pre and post-restoration of two sites in Genesee County that have experienced massive ash tree die-off as a result of the invasions of the emerald ash borer.

The award will be administered by The Research Foundation for SUNY at SUNY Brockport.
