Matt Vegiard, a new professional staff member in the Department of Theatre and Music Studies, will perform at SUNY Brockport on Thursday, November 18.
Matt Vegiard, instructor and scene shop manager for the Department of Theatre and Music Studies, will be sharing his tuba-playing expertise in the Orchestra and Concert Band concert Thursday, November 18.
Matt’s tuba, incidentally is called “Miranda Miraphone.” Matt has been playing for 16 years, although he’s only had Miranda for 3.5 years. When Matt was hired at the College, he made sure to alert the faculty of his penchant for tuba performance. “My Spanish teacher once told me that ‘A life without music isn’t a life at all’ or ‘una vida sin musica no es una vida.’ I’m truly excited to play - not having played since pre-pandemic- it’s wonderful to play in any band and Concert Band is a lovely group of humans.” The concert will be in the Ballroom at 7:30 pm.
