Title: Earth Science Professor Publishes Article as Part of International Team
Mark Noll, professor of geology in the Earth Sciences department, is a co-author on a paper just published in the journal Remote Sensing. Dr. Noll was part of an international team with researchers from Australia and India. The lead author, Pankaj Kaushik, is currently a visiting researcher in Dr. Noll’s lab.
The paper, Assessing Changes in Terrestrial Water Storage Components over the Great Artesian Basin Using Satellite Observations, looks at the application of satellite-based remote sensing tools for the evaluation of water resources over Australia’s Great Artesian Basin, the largest artesian aquifer system in the world. Results show that satellite-based observations may be used as a valuable tool in assessing and managing sustainable water use.
