Title: Leadership Development Program & Proud Eagles Seek Faculty & Staff Involvement
The Leadership Development Program is currently looking for faculty and staff involvement! This award-winning program has around 300 participants each year and engages nearly 150 faculty and staff volunteers. We have several different roles in which you could get involved:
- Mentoring a student in the Green Leadership Certificate (Approximately three meetings per semester, six meetings total)
- Presenting a workshop to the Green Leadership Students
- Presenting at the annual Leadership Conference.
- Serving on an awards selection committee (varied times, approximately two-month commitment)
Furthermore, Proud Eagles is an exciting new opportunity, within the Leadership Development Program, to directly support marginalized students on our campus. Proud Eagles serve LGBTQIA+ and ally students who wish to learn more about their orientation identity development, intersectionality, resources/community service, social justice, the LGBTQIA+ rights movement, and empowerment. This will be accomplished through mentorship, workshops, and community service.
Proud Eagles is currently seeking mentors who are passionate about creating and sustaining an inclusive community, a positive campus climate, building a better Brockport, and ensuring that we are a great college at which to learn. You will be a Leadership Development Program mentor responsible for working with a student through their certificate obligations, as well as the above mentioned focus areas. Mentors should be “out” LGBTQIA+ or ally faculty and staff members; feel comfortable and confident in their identities; be knowledgeable about the LGBTQIA+ community, social justice, and intersectionality; and possess the ability to effectively educate, empower, and influence mentees.
