Title: Doctor of Nurse Practice Student Publishes Article
Syncope is a common medical presentation that can cost the US healthcare system up to $2.4 billion dollars annually. Much of this cost can be mitigated with proper evaluation and management in the urgent care setting as well as appropriate use of a risk stratification system. Brandon Geer (RN-BC, FNP-C, CEN, CSPPM) discusses these techniques and how to make appropriate diagnostic and treatment plans for patients presenting with syncope.
Geer developed this article while enrolled in NUR 610 Professional Writing with Dr. Elizabeth Heavey. It is his second publication while enrolled in a nursing graduate program at SUNY Brockport. His first was as an FNP student in Nursing. This article is the continuing education feature for The Nurse Practitioner for August 2021. The nursing department is extremely proud of Geer’s accomplishments and contributions to the profession.
