Carson Young, Assistant Professor of Business Administration, received $500 from the Institute for Humane Studies at George Mason University for the Leland B. Yeager Reading Group in Economics.
The reading group is an extension of the reading group in economics originally started by Cameron Harwick.
The reading group, which will include sophomores, juniors, and seniors, provides for student-led discussions, exposes students to controversial ideas, and challenges students to think critically about political and economic issues.
The book for Fall 2021 is Joseph Health’s Economics Without Illusions: Debunking the myths of modern capitalism. The book targets myths about economics originating from both left-wing and right-wing political perspectives.
The award will be administered by The Research Foundation for SUNY Brockport.
