Vice President News:

  • Budget Retreat: 2/3/23 meeting held by President’s Cabinet to focus on the following key topics: JPBC’s recommendations to reduce the structural deficit, enrollment, current reserve forecast, and 2023-2024 budget targets.
  • Facilties Master Plan: 2/14/23 meeting scheduled for JMZ Architects to review their Facilities Master Plan (FMP) recommendations with President’s Cabinet. 

Departmental News: 

Environmental Health and Safety (EHS):

The NYS Office of Fire Prevention and Control will be on campus beginning March 1, 2023, to conduct the annual campus fire and life safety compliance inspection. The inspection is expected to occur over the course of 3-4 weeks. The inspector will inspect all working, learning, and living spaces.

Facilities Maintenance and Operations (FMO):

Renovations for the Campus Print Shop are underway! Facilities is making modifications to an additional space on the Ground floor of the Allen building to house new printing and sign-making machines, and also have assisted with utility connections in the current Print Shop location for the new machines; work is expected to be completed this month.

Facilities Planning and Construction (FPC): Seymour Union Ballroom

The Seymour Union Ballroom is back open! (photo at right includes some temporary protection pieces that will soon be removed). The State University Construction Fund (SUCF) is now moving forward with the vendor selection process for the renovation of Tuttle South. The Residence Drive Project continues to move along. And many other projects are in the planning phase.

Human Resources (HR):

Photo of Nick Leone Please welcome Nick Leone to HR’s Recruitment and Retention team. You may already recognize his name, as he joined us last year as a temporary employee managing employee COVID cases. While he will continue to manage COVID cases, Nick has been hired as our Recruitment and Retention Coordinator. He will use our various systems to track recruitment activities, complete detailed reports, and help train users through system processes. You can count on Nick to provide excellent customer service while providing guidance, follow up, and responses to various constituents in a timely manner.

SUNY Brockport’s Payroll team has been recommended to assist another SUNY campus in need. Recognized for providing knowledgeable, timely, and quality service, our payroll team will assist with payroll processing for a short period of time until open positions are filled at the other campuses. Kudos to Serena Starr, Michelle Demonte, Karen Simpson, and Debbie Looney for their exceptional teamwork and support of our SUNY colleagues.
