Departmental News:

Facilities Planning & Construction (FPC):

Many of the projects that the Facilities Planning & Construction group executes are utilitarian in nature and often go unnoticed. These projects maintain our critical infrastructure and often simply keep us warm and dry so we can go about our daily business. The Hartwell Hall Boiler Upgrade Project is a good example of a critical asset that has reached the end of its service life. The existing steam heat boilers (dating back to the early 1990s) were designed to provide steam and hot water heat to Hartwell, Lathrop, Neff, and Morgan Halls. These obsolete and inefficient steam boilers are being replaced with new, high-efficiency, condensing hot water boilers. The new modern hydronic heating system will be connected to, and controlled by, the campus’ building management system.
