Hard to believe that today is the last day of the first week of classes!
The week began with a College Senate meeting with significant focus on the changing General Education program for the College that will need to be approved and then implemented for fall 2023. It will be a very busy semester as this process is debated.
In Cabinet on Wednesday we discussed the opening of school; feedback on State and SUNY objectives that we may want to participate in; a review of the College Leadership Summit and plans for future sessions; some policy work; budget requests; and other campus updates. Later in the day we had a meeting with JMZ Architects & Planners and the State University Construction Fund (SUCF) on facility master planning.
As students returned to classes, hard and important work continued with our team around institutional marketing. These conversations are happening within the Division and with key partners across campus. Details around Homecoming & Family Weekend also are coming into focus, as are plans for the dedication of the Fannie Barrier Williams Building. Also, some significant travel this fall to see important donors, alumni, and other friends of the College was confirmed.
