A graduate assistant is a student employee of the university who performs specialized duties—through positions called graduate assistantships.
Graduate assistants are enrolled in our master’s and doctorate programs and take on assistantships to gain professional experience while earning compensation. Graduate assistants receive compensation in the form of a tuition waiver and living stipend.
A teaching assistant is a student employee of the university who assists faculty members in classroom, research and/or laboratory assignments —through positions called teaching assistantships.

Commitment
20 hr./per week each semester (fall and spring semesters only)
Benefits
Tuition: Nine credits of graduate tuition scholarship per semester (degree applicable coursework). Living stipend: $4,500.00 per semester
Part-time GA/TA

14 hr./per week each semester (fall and spring semesters only)
Benefits
Tuition: Six credits of graduate tuition scholarship per semester (degree applicable coursework). Living stipend: $3,150.00 per semester

All graduate/teaching assistantships are located on either the Brockport campus (Brockport, NY) or Brockport Downtown (Rochester, NY)
