About Phi Sigma Iota

In 2016, the Department of Modern Languages and Cultures joined the International Foreign Language Honors Society, Phi Sigma Iota. Phi Sigma Iota is the highest academic honor in the field of languages and literatures. It recognizes outstanding accomplishments in the study of languages and an appreciation for diverse points of view. Its members are encouraged to maintain a lifelong commitment to the study and promotion of languages and cultures while continuing to pursue research in their field of study.

Eligibility at Brockport

Membership into Phi Sigma Iota is a great honor for students at Brockport. Students must be ranked among the top 35% of their class and currently pursuing a degree in either French or Spanish.
