Curriculum
Army ROTC Cadets are regular SUNY Brockport students that take part in the ROTC program. The program consists of four years, split between the Basic and Advance course. You can take ROTC as an elective course or pursue the entire program, which culminates in a commission as a Second Lieutenant—an Army Officer. Our students have a regular course schedule and an academic major. Once a week, students meet as a group for leadership laboratory, along with your regular ROTC academic class instruction.

Cadet Training
Army ROTC Cadets have a wide variety of training opportunities throughout the year. Team activities such as Color guard and Ranger Challenge further develop your leadership training.
There are also many summer training opportunities, including Basic Camp for new cadets, and summer internships across the country and even overseas for those who qualify. -
Career Outlook
Officers are the managers of the Army. They are tasked with making important decisions in stressful situations, and they are entrusted with the safety of the men and women under their command.
Being an Officer in the US Army will not only serve as a point of pride during your U.S. Army service, but it will also be useful to you in your civilian career. Employers place a high value on the discipline and leadership skills that the Army fosters in its Soldiers. Army Officers are often looked to as prime candidates for management roles and executive positions.

Come for a Visit
We offer tours all year long, but February and March are our busiest months.
Schedule a VisitAfter joining ROTC as a freshman, I have had many incredible opportunities to do things I would have never imagined doing while in college. Last summer I attended a month long training exercise in Bosnia, and it really impacted me as a leader and as a person.
