What You’ll Learn
A coaching minor puts you ahead of the game and ready to coach in a variety of settings. You’ll graduate prepared to impact young lives, showing them the value of teamwork, the benefits of hard work, and how a good strategy can lead to great results.
Our coaching minor fulfills the New York State requirements for coaching in public schools and provides greater depth in preparation for prospective coaches in schools, sports clubs, community programs, colleges, or other athletic organizations.
Gain practical experience in an authentic setting. You’ll work closely with our faculty both in the classroom and on the playing field.
You’ll have the option to choose which sport you become certified to coach in NYS. A coaching minor can supplement any major. We recommend declaring the coaching minor by your spring semester sophomore year or fall semester junior year in order to complete the curriculum in time for graduation.Curriculum & Learning Outcomes
We recommend submitting first-year applications in October or early November. We decide your admission once you complete your application.
