The focus of our facilities is to provide students ready access to current production technology.
The department houses state-of-the-art audio and video production areas as well as editing stations for use both in and outside of class.

Television Studios
Two new digital/HD television studios house separate control rooms with a total of six studio cameras and teleprompter capabilities in each studio. For students working on field production, department majors have access to two 22-station Mac Labs with Final Cut Pro and other digital editing software. These Mac labs as well as the television studio and edit facilities are open evenings for student use.

Radio Stations
All students are welcome to work on-air or behind the scenes at WBSU 89.1 The Point, the student-operated FM radio station. A completely digital production and broadcast facility, The Point is on the air 24 hours a day and is the largest and most powerful radio station in the SUNY system with a signal that reaches much of Western New York as well as into parts of Canada.

Journalism Labs
Print students work extensively in the fully computerized journalism laboratories in Holmes. They also submit work to the weekly student newspaper, The Stylus, which also maintains a Web presence.

Television Studios
All students interested in television production are welcome to become members of Talon Television, which produces entertainment programs as well as a newscast. Members have access to the club’s field cameras and edit bays and are encouraged to produce original programming for distribution on the campus’ cable channel.

Equipment Rental
Students also have the ability to rent cameras, microphones, tripods, and lights:
