About our Institute

Watch our video to learn more about who we are and what we do at the Institute of Movement Studies for Individuals with Visual Impairments (IMSVI).

Camp Abilities

Camp Abilities is a developmental sports camp for children and teens who are blind, visually impaired, and deafblind. Our video highlights the story of two children with visual impairments who grew up together at an orphanage in China and were reunited at Camp Abilities.

Scholarship

IMSVI is supported through external government grants and donations. This support allows us to facilitate research with students and internal/external faculty. Our research findings are distributed in publications (both nationally and internationally) and through presentations.

Programming/Service Learning

We provide camps, after school community programs and service learning opportunities for children with visual impairments or deafblindness. Through a collaboration with Brockport students and local agencies, we develop adapted physical education programs for children with visual impairments or deafblindness.
