Admissions Requirements

Distinguished Faculty

Distinguished and dedicated faculty make Honors courses especially rewarding. Faculty are specially selected to teach the program, and many have received prestigious awards for their teaching, scholarship, or artistic productions.

Small Class Size

We offer a student-centered learning environment where lectures are uncommon. Honors courses are designed to promote an informal atmosphere and personalized learning. We value informal discussions with faculty about research and creative work as part of the Honors student experience.

Personalized Academic Advisement

The Honors College tries to maintain a productive balance between the intimacy and challenge of small courses and the diversity and flexibility of the University’s course offerings. Our students also gain early access to course registration.

Honors Recognition

Honors students are recognized in a special graduation ceremony, where they receive the Prometheus Medal and a notation on their academic transcript. Honors College recognition is widely seen as an indication of both a student’s superior academic achievement and his or her willingness to undertake the most challenging program of study.
