Career Outlook
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment in healthcare occupations (including Medical and Health Services Managers) is projected to grow 32 percent from 2019 to 2029. In addition, they estimate that the median pay for Medical and Health Services Managers is $100,980 per year (or $48.55 per hour). Partly due to an aging population, further estimates project that the field of healthcare will add more new jobs than any other occupation in the coming years.
According to a recent report by the Center for Health Workforce Studies, health sector employment in New York State accounted for 12% of total employment in 2016, which was higher than the national level average of nearly 11%. This represents a growth of nearly 30% in health sector employment in New York State between 2000 and 2016, compared to less than 5% job growth for all other employment sectors.
