School-Based Teacher Educators
School-based Teacher Educators (SBTE) teachers in local school districts who mentor the University’s teacher candidates for field experience or student teaching placements. Please review the curriculum for our Adolescence Inclusive Generalist or our Childhood Inclusive students for expectations based on their prior experience if you are an SBTE.

Forms
Our forms webpage has all of the forms that a school-based teacher educator will need when working with a student from the University for the student teaching or field experience.

Expectations for SBTEs
SBTEs play an important role in shaping the University’s teacher candidates for the future through the role of a mentor.

Field Experience/ Student Teaching Information
Teacher candidates must complete three, 50 hour field experiences and a student teaching experience with an SBTE. Our student teaching and field experience webpages provide useful information and resources for both students and SBTEs.
