Traci Brimhall is the author of Rookery and Our Lady of the Ruins, winner of the Barnard Women’s Poets Prize, selected by Carolyn Forché. She received the 2009 Crab Orchard Series in Poetry First Book Award. Her poems have appeared in The New Yorker, New England Review, Ploughshares, and many more. This year, Brimhall received a National Endowment for the Arts Literature Fellowship in Poetry.
Michael Crummey

Author of the novels Galore, River Thieves, and The Wreckage and the poetry collections Hard Light, Salvage, and, most recently, Under the Keel, Michael Crummey is the recipient of many of Canada’s top literary prizes, including the Commonwealth Writers’ Prize for Best Book, the Canadian Authors Association Literary Award, the Thomas Head Raddall Atlantic Book Award, and the Winterset Award. He also was named a finalist for the Governor General’s Literary Award for Fiction.
Adrie Kusserow

Author of two collections of poems, Hunting Down the Monk and Refuge, Adrie Kusserow is a cultural anthropologist whose ethnographic research focuses on refugees in Sudan and women’s education in Bhutan. A professor of anthropology at Saint Michael’s College in Vermont, Kusserow encourages her students to perform service-related work. She recently returned from South Sudan, and Refuge is a reflection of her time spent there.

Ed Pavli is the author of Winners Have Yet to be Announced: A Song for Donny Hathaway, Labors Lost Left Unfinished, Paraph of Bone & Other Kinds of Blue, and, most recently, Visiting Hours at the Color Line. His prizes include the Darwin Turner Award from African American Review, the American Poetry Review / Honickman First Book Prize, and the Author of the Year Award from The Georgia Writers Association. He has had fellowships at the Vermont Studio Center, The Bread Loaf Writers Conference, and The MacDowell Colony.

Author of such books as The Darling, The Sweet Hereafter, Cloudsplitter, Rule of Bone, Affliction, Success Stories, Continental Drift, Memory of Lost Skin, and The Reserve, Banks’ fiction has been recognized with the Ingram Merrill Award, the John Dos Passos Award, the Literature Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, and the Laure Bataillon Prize, as well as grants from the NEA and the Guggenheim Foundation. Continental Drift and Cloudsplitter were Pulitzer Prize finalists. The New York State Author from 2004 to 2008, Banks is the winner of the 2011 Commonwealth Award for Literature.
