Ceremony Arrival
On Friday, May 12, 2023, please arrive at 8 am to check in, fill out your name card, and prepare for the line-up. The student processional begins promptly at 9 am.
- Bring your cap and gown. All students who intend to process must wear Academic Regalia.
- Each graduate’s name will be read as they cross the stage and receive a diploma cover, compliments of the Brockport Alumni Association, Brockport Student Government, and the University.
- We request that all graduates, guests and family members remain seated for the entire ceremony.
- Balloons are not allowed inside the SERC.
- SUNY Brockport is a tobacco-free, smoke-free, and vape-free campus.
Student Line-up Location
Undergraduate Students: Meet in the Wegmans Ice Arena
Graduate Students: Meet in the Tuttle North back gyms (C-205 and C-206).
Guests
Please let your guests know they cannot enter the Field House until 8 am and must be seated by 8:45 am.
We offer an on-campus alternate viewing location in the Jim and John Vlogianitis Gymnasium in Tuttle North, where the ceremony will be streamed live. Or, for those with friends and family who cannot come to campus, the ceremony will be streamed live on the University’s homepage. Your friends and family will be able to watch you graduate from anywhere in the world. Make sure you invite them to join us!
Since traffic delays are unavoidable, guests should plan to arrive early and allow extra time to get seated in the Field House at the Special Events Recreation Center (The SERC).

Celebrating Our New Alums
We welcome you, your guests, faculty, and staff to our campus celebration after the ceremony. The reception will be outside the SERC under a tent on the lawn across the street from the ceremony. You will be led outside during the recessional, and your guests will join you.
Photographs
Island Photography will take your photograph as you walk across the stage. Proofs and purchase information will be mailed to your home address in the summer.
Island Photography also provides reader cards for use during the ceremony as well as identification cards following the ceremony. Graduates, be sure to fill out your reader card with correct phonetic spelling. Also, be sure to provide the permanent address of where you will be residing after Commencement for accurate delivery of your photos.
Registering with Island Photography provides the information they need to deliver your graduation proofs to you in a timely manner. Giving them an accurate mailing address and email address will allow them to get your proofs to you on the first try.
